SENIOR ARCHITECT

Job Description

Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems. Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers.

Newport News Shipbuilding, division of Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII-NNS) is seeking an Architect to support enterprise level planning if new programs while maintaining bridge current landscape. We are looking for an seasoned architect interested in designing and building information systems to support construction of some of the largest and most complex products in the world. Our IT build and maintain systems that process information across Engineering, Planning, Operations and Manufacturing. We are the sole designer and builder of U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers and one of two providers of U.S. Navy Submarines.

Basic Qualifications

14 Years with Bachelor of Science degree in related field; 12 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree; 9 years of relevant professional experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal Candidate is expected to demonstrate hands on expertise in designing and executing in at least one area listed below:
SAP Architecture:
•    Demonstrated experience with SAP S/4HANA Implementations, SAP Fiori
•    Experience with SAP BPC, PEO, EWM, SCM & GRC is a plus
•    Prior experience implementing SAP Ariba and Fieldglass is a plus
•    General knowledge of SAP ECC, Process Orchestration, SuccessFactors, Concur and SAP overall technology landscape.
 
PLM/Teamcenter Architecture:
•    Must have In-depth understanding of Siemens Toolset, including Teamcenter Unified 
•    Experience in Teamcenter development using TcU ( Java, C++, ITK, SOA) 
•    Must be expert in two or more of following areas: BMIDE, Workflow configuration and custom handlers, AM rule Tree, Java API, SOA based TC coding
•    Experience with one/more Teamcenter modules like: Requirements manager, Manufacturing Process Planner, Classification, Structure manager
•    Experience in Configuring NX, excel reports, teamcenter reporting is a plus
 
Infrastructure Architecture:
•    Infrastructure Architect should have experience related to web server and application server administration and web applications deployment experience
•    Experience in continuous review of current environment to detect deficiencies, recommend, plan and implement solutions for improvement.
•    Experience in developing future-state roadmaps, drive consensus, proof of concepts, demonstrating viable paths to modernizing applications to Cloud technologies
•    Experience in building DevOps and CI/CD pipeline
•    Understand and apply security standards like NIST and DISA STIG to existing and new systems is a plus
•    Experience with one/more of: Kubernetes,  Ansible, Cloud Native Solutions, FedRAMP, ZeroTrust Frameworks is a plus
•    Certifications in Service oriented architecture, TOGAF, Networking is a plus.
 
Enterprise Architecture:
•    Create, maintain, and manage IT architecture models and their components within IT Landscape
•    Experience in integration architecture and patterns including integration via APIs and services is required
•    Assess technologies and implement technical architectures to increase business agility and manage complexity
•    Proven leadership in implementation of one/more enterprise efforts in rollout of Data lake, Enterprise service bus, Cloud rollout, Machine learning
•    Manage technology obsolescence and vendor risks
•    Assess technologies and implement technical architectures to increase business agility and manage complexity
•     Define and help execute forward-looking plans to develop relevant new technology skills and capabilities
