Corporate Senior Tax Manager 3 - Income Tax Provision

Job Description

HII seeks an experienced Corporate Senior Tax Manager to oversee the Company’s income tax provision processes.  Responsibilities include managing all aspects of the financial reporting of income tax in compliance with GAAP, including any changes in GAAP that impact the reporting of income tax.  

•Manage the global income tax provision processes, including identifying and documenting uncertain tax positions and tax contingencies (FIN 48 and FAS 5).
•Manage and ensure internal control compliance to mitigate risk.
•Identify opportunities to streamline provision processes and automate manual activities to increase efficiencies within the tax department. 
•Coordinate and manage external audit of income tax provision.
•Oversee all income tax related disclosures in the financial statements.
•Lead income tax reporting of statutory international reporting requirements.
•Coordinate with Tax Director on the income tax reporting of acquisitions and dispositions.
•Interface with outside tax advisors, including attorneys, accounting firms, and other tax consultants.
•Review and develop income tax accounting positions in conjunction with Tax Director and Director Technical Accounting.
•Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements, maintaining current knowledge of tax law and financial reporting changes.
•Research, analyze, interpret, and apply tax laws and principles.
•Remain current on income tax reporting developments.
•Lead and / or contribute to tax related team projects or initiatives, as assigned.
•Assist with periodic reporting requirements to key stakeholders and senior leadership.
•Mentor and develop tax professionals.

Basic Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, plus at least 8 years of related experience, preferably with global public accounting, corporate tax and/or accounting at a defense contractor or agency.  Master's degree and 6 years relevant experience.

•Knowledge of the provisions and application of ASC 740, Income Tax Accounting.
•Strong management, technology, and organizational skills. 
•Strong analytical abilities
•Excellent written and oral communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

•Experience with OneSource Income Tax Compliance and Longview Tax Provision preferred
•Experience with SAP, CostPoint, and Central Finance accounting systems and related applications preferred
•Experience with tax research services, such as Checkpoint and BNA preferred.
•CPA designation preferred
