The Role

HII has an opening for an Administrative Assistant to Corporate VP in Arlington, VA. In this role, you will provide administrative support to the Corporate Vice President, Associate General Counsel, and Secretary and other attorneys and executive staff in the Company's law department. The Administrative Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment, handling a variety of detailed-oriented tasks, many of a highly confidential and critical nature. Position requires significant team-work and involves contacts of a sensitive nature inside and outside the company that requires the exercise of judgment and discretion, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. Position also includes preparation and editing of Word and PowerPoint documents, and proficiency with both applications is essential. Organizational skills are also important.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing executive assistant support to the Corporate Vice President , Associate General Counsel and Secretary
  • Assisting in the preparation of documents and other filings, including the Company's proxy statements, and materials in support of the board of directors
  • Scheduling and providing logistical support for executive meetings and conferences
  • Receiving and assisting executives, visitors and guests
  • Conducting research, compiling and reconciling data, and preparing expense/budget/department reports and correspondence
  • Arranging and supporting executive travel
  • Serving as a resource for other executive and department staff in the conduct of departmental operations

Must Have

  • High School/GED and 6 years of additional education and/or experience.
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

 

Nice to Have

  • Associates Degree in Legal Assisting, Business Administration or Administrative Sciences 
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, adapt to changing schedules and short deadlines
  • Proficiency in English grammar and composition
  • Self-motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly professional, with demonstrated judgment, diplomacy and sensitivity to confidential matters
  • Ability to fully support core office hours and executive and conference schedules, including overtime, when required
  • Ability to work as a team member is essential
