The Role
HII has an exciting opportunity for Director, Operations Strategy on the Corporate Strategy and Technology team at our Arlington, VA office!
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and driving strategic initiatives and improving company operational performance:
- Taking a leadership role in developing corporate and business unit operations strategies, including identifying investment and value creation opportunities, diagnosing operational constraints, building business cases and implementation plans, and aligning stakeholders for implementation
- Leading internal teams and coordinating closely with division owners to develop and execute operations strategies, value creation plans, and roadmaps
- Driving industry-leading operational standards and systems across the company
- Identifying and implementing new technologies, processes, and metrics to streamline operations and improve performance, coordinating closely with division owners
- Developing and executing strategies for strategic sourcing, industrial base support, and next-generation production
- Developing cross-division technology implementation roadmaps for advanced manufacturing and I4.0 technologies
- Developing strategic partnerships with industry, technology, and supplier partners
- Working as part of the corporate Dark Sea Labs leadership team
- Supporting major growth campaigns in shipbuilding, nuclear, and defense markets
- Conducting operational due diligence activities in support of M&A
- Preparing materials for the CEO, division presidents, Board of Directors, and external senior stakeholders
Must Have
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (or the equivalent in education, training and experience), plus a minimum of 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; OR
Master's degree and 8 years relevant experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
Nice to Have
- Experience in defense, shipbuilding, operations, manufacturing, and/or supply chain
- Prior experience in management consulting or internal consulting
