The Role

The mission of HII's (Huntington Ingalls Industries) Government & Customer Relations (GCR) team is to shape requirements, acquisition strategies, investments, schedules, and the competitive and political environments. Working closely with our leadership, customers, elected officials, think tanks, academia and industry trade associations, GCR develops and implements strategies to advance HII's business objectives.

We are seeking a Corporate Government Relations Analyst to support all aspects of Hll's government relations activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a professional attitude, capacity to understand policy issues related to national security, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and see them through to completion in a deadline-oriented environment.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Identify and develop content to support biweekly government relations update to Board of Directors, monthly government relations report, and other informational products
  • Research, monitor, and track Congressional and Administration activities, including legislation, executive actions, hearings, and events, to help with educating key stakeholders on relevant legislation
  • Assist with preparation of presentations and high-quality materials for Board of Directors, executive leadership and other audiences
  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and track federal activities and developments that may impact HII’s business
  • With oversight from management, work various strategic projects as needed, including conducting research and outreach in support of HII’s policy objectives
  • Capably represent HII at appropriate events sponsored by industry organizations and other external stakeholders
  • Routinely review and update relevant GCR content on the HII website
  • Perform analysis to support business decision-making

Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in political science, communications, business or related area 
  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and AI application usage
