The Role
HII’s Corporate Strategy & Development team is responsible for driving HII’s enterprise strategy including mergers & acquisitions (M&A), corporate development & partnerships, annual strategic planning, enterprise initiatives, strategic growth and international development initiatives.
We are seeking a Corporate Development Senior Analyst to support all aspects of HII’s M&A, strategic partnership, joint venture and corporate venture activities. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and financial modeling skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and strategic topics.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Build detailed financial and valuation models, including public comparables, precedent transaction, discounted cash flow (DCF) and accretion/dilution analysis
- Assist in the execution of the due diligence process, including collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare presentations and high-quality materials for Board of Directors, executive leadership and investor audiences
- Maintain and support M&A pipeline development, including market research, target identification and investment thesis development
- Collaborate across business units to support the development of business strategies and contribute to HII’s Annual Strategic Planning process
- Assist with post-mortem analysis, integration planning and other ad hoc analysis
- Analyze the global defense and nuclear markets (e.g., market segmentation, sizing, forecasting)
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to support business decision-making
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business management, economics or related degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience
Nice to Have
- Prior investment banking / M&A experience, including completion of an investment banking training course or financial certifications (i.e. Training the Street or other in-house training program)
- Strong project management skills and ability to communicate effectively on complex business concepts and structures
- Familiarity with defense markets and/or interest in national security
- Familiarity with congressional budget documentation is a plus
- Experience with investment banking, private equity or consulting experience and relevant certifications
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including financial modeling, valuation analyses, and data analysis
