The Role

HII - a global, all-domain defense provider - has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant General Counsel, Director-2 of Enterprise Trade Compliance. The ideal candidate is a trusted senior advisor with strong judgment, integrity, and communication skills, capable of influencing senior leadership (including up to the Board of Directors level) and bridging the gap between senior business and legal leadership. This position will (i) set a tone consistent with establishing an international trade compliance team that is high-performing, well-trained, and well-integrated into the business; (ii) be the critical first line supervisor, leader, and mentor for the Senior Counsels responsible for trade compliance at the division levels; and (iii) focus attention on strategy, planning, stakeholder engagement (internal and external), and creative solutions. This position will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer.

Must Have

Juris Doctor Law degree and 10 years of experience;

Experience with Internal Investigations

Nice to Have

Extensive experience in International Trade Compliance  

Defense Industry and/or USG experience 

Government Contracts experience

In-House Legal experience 

Active Security Clearance
