The Role

HII is looking for a Corporate Auditor 2 in our Newport News, Virginia office! The auditor will be responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of audit processes - budgeting, scoping, planning, fieldwork, assessing audit risk,  report writing, follow up with internal audit clients - and performing operating, financial, information technology, Sarbanes Oxley and assurance audits across the enterprise.  Auditor will work closely with all levels within the company including our divisions - Mission Technologies, Newport News Shipbuilding, Ingalls Shipbuilding as well as the Corporate office. 

As an auditor, you will conduct complex financial and operational audits by examining and verifying accounting, statistical, or operational records and/or procedures of internal and / or external organizations to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of internal control systems.  Auditor will examine records and processes to ensure proper recording of transactions and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, corporate policies, and global internal audit standards. 

Auditor will support HII in advisory services via evaluations and recommendations of business practices, processes, and controls and provide support to our external auditors via assurance based audits and audits over internal controls. 

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience

 

Nice to Have

  • CIA and/or CPA preferred
  • Experience with SAP, Cost Point, and Audit Board
  • Strong analytical abilities; data investigation; high attention to detail
  • problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet daily deadlines
