The Role

HII is seeking an Corporate IT Project Manager for our office in Newport News, Va! The IT Project Manager I (PM Level 1) plans, coordinates, and delivers small‑sized Cyber & IT projects and supports larger initiatives led by senior project managers. Focus areas include scope, schedule, quality, cost, communications, and risk/issue management.

The PM I also manages departmental activities (e.g., travel, training, onboarding calendars), serves as the department SharePoint site owner, and coordinates supplier and team engagements. Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Planner is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support small-sized IT projects, ensuring successful delivery of scope, schedule, communications, and risk/issue management. 
  • Track and manage budgets for small projects, escalating risks or deviations as appropriate and ensure invoice processing. 
  • Facilitate stakeholder communications, meetings, and documentation using Microsoft Teams. 
  • Configure and maintain Microsoft Planner boards to track tasks, assignments, and dependencies. 
  • Serve as SharePoint site owner and maintain departmental content, permissions, and structure. 
  • Coordinate departmental operations such as travel, training, supplier engagement, onboarding, and supporting larger projects as directed. 
  • Collaborate with Corporate/Divisional Finance and CyberIT resource managers to ensure accurate labor planning, compliance, and financial alignment.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience. 

 

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Planner. 
  • Knowledge of PM fundamentals including scope, schedule, risk/issue, and change control. 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools. 
  • Collaboration skills to work across various teams and departments.
  • Familiarity with Teams, Power BI, Microsoft Planner, and Copilot for analytics.
