The Role

HII seeks an experienced Senior Corporate Tax Manager 3 –Tax Compliance to oversee income tax compliance processes and provide support to our segments on indirect taxes.

Responsibilities include:

Lead all tax compliance activities, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal tax laws;
Manage preparation and review of federal consolidated return and all state income tax returns for the members of the consolidated group, as well as separate company filings;
Interface with segment tax teams, resolve tax related questions, and respond to requests for support;
Coordinate cost segregation studies for all HII segments;
Ensure tax depreciation for domestic entities is calculated in accordance with applicable federal and state income tax laws;
Review and develop tax positions in conjunction with Tax Director;
Support integration of acquired companies into income tax compliance processes;
Support segments in resolving issues related to indirect taxes (e.g., real estate tax assessments, sales & use tax audits, etc.)
Coordinate and manage assigned state income tax audits; as well as indirect tax audits;
Remain current on applicable income tax laws; and assist in the development and implementation of state tax planning strategies;
Lead and / or contribute to tax related team projects or initiatives, as assigned;
Mentor and develop tax professionals.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master’s Degree and 6 years of relevant experience

Knowledge of federal and state income tax laws, including those applicable to consolidated and combined returns.

Nice to Have

Strong management, technology, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with OneSource Income Tax Compliance preferred
Experience with SAP, CostPoint, and Central Finance accounting systems and related applications preferred
Experience with tax research services, such as Checkpoint and BNA preferred.
Strong analytical abilities
CPA designation preferred
