The Role

Designs, models, documents, and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications. Analyzes needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develops technical, structural, and organizational specifications. May create standards and/or do modeling to monitor and enhance capacity and performance.

We’re seeking a proactive SAP HANA Database Administrator to join our team and ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our SAP HANA environments. In this role, you’ll manage system replication for disaster recovery, implement patches and updates, and ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and SOX requirements. You’ll collaborate with developers and application teams to troubleshoot database and application issues, support upgrade efforts, and monitor system performance to meet service level agreements. The role also involves writing and maintaining shell scripts to automate routine tasks, managing vulnerability remediation, and aligning database operations with vendor best practices. It provides technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems.  This is a hands-on, cross functional role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; Master?s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.

One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice to Have

  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.  
  • Knowledge in maintaining the integrity of the database systems and able to plan out upgrades of the system or related tools.
  • Experience administering Hana 2.0 databases on Linux systems and applying database updates.  Utilizing Hana cockpit and studio to manage database backups, performance tuning, configuration changes, and database auditing.   
  • Able to work with the DBA team to determine and develop approaches to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
  • Comfortable with representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
