The Role
Responsible for all phases of Propulsion Plant construction, test and redelivery of a Naval Nuclear Aircraft Carrier for the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) Program. This position is responsible for the Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost and Engagement of the construction and production teams supporting the RCOH program. The position operates in a fast paced environment where urgency and responsiveness are critical. This candidate should have demonstrated abilities to lead all aspects of oversight for scheduling, manning, progressing, materials, contracting and integration of this diverse and complex program. The preferred candidate will have solid communication skills and the ability to professionally represent the Program with the customers, such as NAVSEA, NRRO, SUPSHIP and Ships Force. Candidate should have the ability to collaborate and build teams in order to achieve project goals. Requires ability to maintain TLD radiological qualification to enter radiation areas, and ability to obtain fall protection, confined space entry, and fire watch qualification. Ability to access the ship and vertical ladders greater than 25 feet is required.
Must Have
NNS Apprentice graduate or Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of applicable technical experience OR Master's degree and 8 years relevant experience. A candidate must have a thorough understanding of construction, manufacturing processes, and operations.
Nice to Have
Candidate should have the ability to maintain TLD radiological qualification to enter radiation areas, and ability to obtain fall protection, confined space entry, and fire watch qualification. Ability to access the ship and vertical ladders greater than 25 feet will be needed.
In addition, nuclear Propulsion Plant experience and knowledge is preferred. Prefer prior construction, production and/or test leadership with RCOH.
