Job Description
This benchmark is intended to be used by companies that have generic classifications engaged in research and/or product development encompassing primarily one or more of the following engineering disciplines: electronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical.
Basic Qualifications

2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 0 Years with Masters- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

Responsible for leading Team Learning Sessions (TLSs), which typically require meeting facilitation, fact- finding, problem-bounding, root cause analysis, identifying corrections to defect, identifying corrections to cause, reviewing objective quality evidence, writing official reports, communicating with the customer and key stakeholders, and verifying effective corrective actions are established and completed.

Employee should have good communication and critical-thinking skills, and be inquisitive with a willingness to learn and a desire to solve problems while working with all levels from individual contributor to director level and in all functional areas of the company. This position offers an opportunity to gain exposure to other programs in the yard, learn more about the shipyard value streams and waterfront processes, and expand network of contacts within NNS and SUPSHIPNN. Background or experience in quality is not required, although familiarity with unplanned events and both SAP and SharePoint programs is a plus. Employee will be provided training as needed.
