Job Description

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Basic Qualifications

5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

The candidate should have experience with program management and providing technical leadership, show initiative in supporting and learning electrical and mechanical engineering concepts, and possess good writing and communication skills.

An understanding of diesel generator and control system design and operation is preferred, as this role is for a senior level engineer in the A1B Propulsion Plant Planning Yard Emergncy Diesel Generator group
