Job Description
This position is for a senior project engineer in support of the Propulsion Plant Monitoring and Control (PPMC) software integration group within the Gerald R. Ford Class Aircraft Carrier Propulsion Plant Planning Yard (PPPY) Control and Information Systems department. The candidate selected to fill this engineering role will be responsible for the technical content of the PPMC System Configuration, Administration, and Operation Technical Manual and will work closely with the PPMC Plant Simulation and System Test group. The candidate will also be key in the configuration management of various chapters of the Propulsion Plant Manual, which include operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and casualty procedures. The candidate will interface with internal and external customers, vendors, and partners in the planning and development of ship alterations supporting construction, modification, test and repair of the PPMC system.
Basic Qualifications
9 Years with Bachelors in a related field; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD. Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
