Job Description
Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
Basic Qualifications

9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.- Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Preferred Qualifications

NNS is seeking a high-potential candidate to lead the Machinery Control and Monitoring System (MCMS) In service engineering agent (ISEA) activities for the Ford Class Aircraft Carrier.  MCMS is the largest Naval network operating many Ford Class ship systems via automation.  As an Electro-Mechanical Engineer you'd be responsible for technically leading all MCMS ISEA products and coordinating tasking to ensure activities are delivered on time.  You'd act as the primary customer contact for ISEA activities, leading program review sessions, developing scopes and schedules, monitoring adherence to schedules, working with other engineers throughout the department to identify problems and solutions, and ensuring formal customer commitments are met.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio) at 2007 or above required.

Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Self-motivated & able to prioritize tasking with limited oversight required.

High degree of organizational skills and attention to detail required.

Knowledge of shipboard systems preferred.

Proven communication and professional skills required.
