The Role

Conceives, designs, lays out, and coordinates editorial illustrations and creative artwork for publications such as magazines, brochures, handbooks, and posters, translating facts and features of subject material into graphic terms that best convey intended meaning. Develops interpretive themes that convey ideas and information. Creates graphic presentations that communicate mood, emphasis, insight, viewpoint, and similar visual impressions. Provides guidance on graphic technology. Works closely with internal company contacts to understand requirements and create cost efficient graphic designs through available mediums. May provide computer graphic services for web artwork. May also have responsibility or input on reproduction and printing processes through in-house resources or outside vendors.

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Graphic Designer with proven experience to join our creative team. This role is ideal for an individual who can balance strong visual execution with strategic thinking, delivering high-quality creative solutions that support marketing initiatives and elevate brand presence.

The ideal candidate has a solid portfolio, a keen eye for design, and the ability to translate concepts into compelling visuals across a variety of platforms. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects, working independently to meet deadlines with little supervision, responding quickly to support emergency communications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with marketing, communications, and leadership teams to develop creative concepts aligned with brand strategy
Maintain and evolve brand standards to ensure consistency across all touchpoints
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail
Translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visual communications
Prepare final files for production and ensure accuracy across formats and platforms
Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice to Have

Preferred Qualifications

Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of creative work
Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Advanced understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and branding principles
Experience working within brand guidelines while also contributing fresh ideas
Strong communication and collaboration skills
