The Role
Leads and directs one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects that span across functional organizations. Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed for the team. Ensures projects are completed on schedule, within budget and meets technical requirements of the assignment. Keeps current on advances in the field of IT. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
Perform activities in accordance with Agile Frameworks while ensuring compliance with company and divisional methodology guidelines, standards, and controls.
- Ensure the team has clarity of capacity and demand and provide oversight to maximize the flow of work
- Ensure effective coordination of work within and across teams
- Serve as the primary escalation point for ""assigned"" teams
- Actively manage risks, impediments, dependencies, and assumptions (RIDA’s)
- Capture and disseminate lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities
- Orchestrate team communications and serve as a point of contact for the system of delivery and governance
- Foster partnerships with stakeholders and conduct communications at appropriate levels
- Ensure decisions are in alignment with Company, Division, and Portfolio guidelines
- Orchestrate and manage external third party contributions where applicable.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
One of the following may be used as an equivalent to bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
- A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a bachelor's Degree.
- 5 Years with bachelor's in Science; 0 Years with master's
Nice to Have
- Understanding of Agile and Waterfall project and team environments
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
- Self-starter, visionary with strong leadership and innovation capabilities, be highly motivated and possess the ability to learn quickly
- Possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to provide oversight and direction to project team members
- Demonstrated ability to accomplish work objectives within a matrixed organizational environment
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to present to and communicate with all levels of management
- 5+ Years of professional experience in a project management type role
- Ability to work and contribute in a collaborative team environment
- Skilled in ADO and other Microsoft products
