The Role
Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software. Set operational specifications, and formulate and analyze software requirements. May design embedded systems software.
Primary Responsibility - Enterprise deployment of PLM applications. Applications include Teamcenter, Visualization, NX, and other integrated tools. Knowledge of PowerShell and MSI installations is required. Experienced in end user deployments is also required.
The IT Software Engineer position develops computer systems specifications that address business requirements that fit with the company’s system architecture standards. They establish and document system parameters and formats, ensure hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinate and/or modify system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities. They revise existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
The software engineer shall ensure the Systems Development Life Cycle process is adhered to and support System Engineers with requirements analysis, specification development, system design and testing associated with implementation and support of the Siemens Product Lifecycle Management suite. The individual needs the ability to work with teams consisting of project management, systems engineers, business analysts, technical resources, process leads, and system users to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of business process enhancements.
Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts to the design and development of solutions to complex application problems and application administration issues.
Candidate will maintain standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures at a level representative of a fortune 500 company.
Develop and foster collaborative working relationships with the customer, project managers and team members.
Interacts with junior and mid-level personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Ancillary duties may include, maintaining Teamcenter/NX/Vis applications documentation, tuning launcher and installer performance and installing Tc/Vis/NX manually when Symantec fails.
Candidate must have a very strong demonstrated technical proficiency.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience; Master?s Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
- A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
