Job Description
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (or the equivalent in education, training and experience), plus a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's degree and 4 years relevant experience.
- Direct experience exporting from and importing into the United States
- Strong experience with import valuation methodologies and assists
- Must have ability to classify products on the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS)
- Ability to read and analyze U.S. trade regulations
- Demonstrated skills to drive process improvements
- Ability to work independently on complex tasks, to lead tasks or projects
- Superior communication skills for effective interaction with technical personnel, engineers, and all levels of management
- Strong business acumen
- Ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual who can be comfortable working as a team leader and as an individual contributor and act with accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to pull reports from the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and use data to perform analysis on import and export activity
- Prior experience with Customs Reconciliation programs
- Prior experience with government contracts
- Familiarity with DCMA Duty Free Entry process
- Direct operational experience in the ITAR and EAR (e.g., export licensing, use of exemptions and exceptions, export jurisdiction classification determinations)
- Familiarity with OCR EASE software suite
- The ideal candidate will have additional experience in international trade matters such as general export compliance, EEI Filings, denied party screening and sanctions
