PROPERTY CONTROL SUPPORT 3 | SENIOR REACTOR PLANT MATERIAL HISTORY SPECIALIST

Job Description

This position is for the E86 Reactor Plant Material History Group. The selected individual(s) will be responsible for developing material history records for reactor plant, steam plant, and electric plant components on Nimitz class aircraft carriers. Developing these records will require the individual to (1) visually locate components on the aircraft carrier to obtain required data, (2) review technical work instructions associated with the components, and (3) prepare technical summaries of any repairs, replacements, or modifications made to the components.

 

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in propulsion plants of Nimitz class aircraft carriers as a mechanical or electrical operator (e.g., E5 or above) or as a nuclear craftsman or apprentice.  

 

 

 

Basic Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Familiarity with components and systems installed in reactor plant, steam plant, or electric plant on board nuclear-powered aircraft carriers or submarines
- Familiarity with technical work documents used by NNS engineering organizations
- Previous experience with naval nuclear or conventional propulsion plants
- Previous experience as a nuclear craftsman or apprentice or mechanical or electrical operator (e.g., E5 or above)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Access and Excel
