Job Description

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience. Master's Degree and 1 year of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. An Apprentice Certificate or graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications

NNS Apprentice School graduate. Prefer candidate with significant ship construction/trade experience. This position is in the Quality Liaison Office Group (O06) and reports to the Quality Liaison Office Manager. The candidate must be able to perform complex assignments independently and with minimal direction as well as lead investigations/evaluations of processes and products. This position focuses on deck plate trade support, therefore will require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those in shops and onboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul to include the use of vertical and inclined ladders.
