Job Description

The selected candidate will install, maintain and remove shipboard temporary services such as ventilation for welding and confined space entry, compressed air lines for pneumatic tools, etc. The job requires considerable walking to and from work areas onboard ships and work in confined spaces.

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is offering a $500 sign-on bonus to entry-level TRADE new hires. In addition, NNS is offering $1000 in relocation to entry-level TRADE new hires that live 50 miles or greater from Newport News, VA. Job seekers who apply until March 31, 2022 are eligible for the sign-on and relocation bonus. Basic Qualifications

Candidates must able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces. Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb. Must be able to lift 40 lbs and must take and pass a respirator fit test. Must be able to work assigned shift as production needs. Must be able to pass Physical Agility Test.
