Job Description
Candidates must have experience in the following:
• Basic Knowledge in UNIX and Linux Operating System
• Basic Knowledge in physical server design
• Basic Knowledge implementing, patching, and upgrading server operating systems and hardware
• Basic Knowledge in computer security techniques
• Proficient in oral and written communications skills
• Basic level of scripting proficiency in UNIX Shell or Python

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree and 3 years of experience. Masters Degree and 1 year of experience. 4 years of related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelors degree. 8 years of non-related exempt experience can be substituted for Bachelors degree. A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelors Degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Other highly desirable experience includes:
• IBM AIX, Oracle (SUN) Solaris, SUSE, Red Hat
