The Role

Develops computer systems specifications that address business requirements and that fit with the companys system architecture standards. Establishes and documents system parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities. Revises existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.

 

You’ll be working as part of a team of system administrators supporting multiple SAP systems and environments, both cloud based and on premise, including JAVA and ABAP systems.  Your primary responsibilities will be leading a team of SAP Basis administrators supporting projects and the day to day operational system requirements.  You will function as the senior technical lead for team while developing computer systems specifications that address business requirements and that fit with the Company's system architecture standards.

 

The successful senior SAP systems administrator will be responsible for:

  • Serving as a senior technical lead to the SAP Basis team
  • Adapting existing methods and procedures to create possible alternative solutions to moderately complex problems
  • Understanding the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals
  • Leading SAP Migrations, Upgrades, Cloud Migrations
  • Using considerable judgment to determine solutions and seeking guidance on complex problems
  • Primary upward interaction is with direct supervisor and open communication with peers and juniors
  • Determining methods and procedures on new assignments with guidance
  • Participating in Complex tasks/ Projects and providing recommendations

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 9 years of relevant exempt experience; Master?s Degree and 7 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.

One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Nice to Have

  • Extensive SAP Administration and performance tuning skills
  • SAP BTP and Cloud Solutions experience
  • Working knowledge of Unix / Linux (RHEL preferred) / Windows servers OS, OKTA, SAP IAS, BTP, AWS skills and certifications
  • Extensive Basis knowledge of SAP S/4, GRC, Success Factors, EC Pay
  • Technical skills with SAP Hana database and any other database
  • Experience working with Agile Methodologies
  • SAP Authorizations Experience
  • Motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects
  • Application management and ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
  • Implementation and operations experience with LAMA, SAP Security, SLT, HCC (Hana Cloud Connector), SAC, BODS

Other duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

•    Understanding the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals
•    Leading SAP Migrations, Upgrades
•    Demonstrating good interpersonal skills and being a team player with good communication 
•    Establishing good relationships with internal and external teams
•    Working across teams to ensure seamless delivery
•    Being receptive of feedback/coaching on performance from other members of the team positively
•    Displaying a working knowledge of Kanban, ITIL framework, Agile Methodologies
•    Able to take an issue, then plan and deliver a solution using own initiative, with little guidance.
•    Knowledge of various DB, OS and ability to support and troubleshoot SAP Cloud products and systems.
•    Should be able to study EWA and provide recommendations
•    Ability to provide performance tuning Landscape optimization recommendations
•    Ability to identify problems and perform analysis to fix Problems
•    Ability to work under own initiative and under tight time pressures - planning, prioritizing, and controlling own workload
•    Willingness to work periodically outside of normal business hours, solid understanding of the SAP Architecture, Planning activities and Cloud frameworks
•    System Performance tuning, Data Volume management, Client and Transport management, Success Factors, System Refresh
