Job Description

The Pipe Insulator Apprentice will study the different types of insulation used in naval shipbuilding including Hull & Pipe Insulation.  The apprentice will install various types of insulation using correct measurements, layout, cutting, and proper sealing techniques.  The apprentice will remove, repair, and install various types of insulation; including fiberglass, calcium silicate, and rubatex from piping systems, ventilation systems, and various components and structures throughout the ship.  Candidates must be able to climb, work off ladders, lift 50lbs, and work in a variety of shipboard environments.  

Basic Qualifications

Must provide the following information at Final Interview: Original High School transcript or GED transcript, and other transcripts, State ID or Drivers License, and DD214 if military.

Mississippi Scholars Tech Master certification preferred
