Job Description

Develops and implements testing and inspection procedures. Tests raw material, chemicals, and/or finished product to quality controls to ensure compliance with quality standards and applicable government regulations. Audits testing results to determine if product specifications are met. Advises operating units on quality control standards for raw materials, chemicals, packaging materials, and finished products. Recommends corrective action where necessary and develops plant quality control manuals.

Basic Qualifications

This position requires an Associate degree plus 3 years of shipbuilding and 5 years of Quality experience or 8 years of heavy industry experience with 5 of them in Quality Inspection OR a Bachelor degree plus 2 years of progressive technical experience plus 2 years of Quality Inspection experience OR a Master degree with 1 year of shipbuilding or heavy industry experience plus 1 year of Quality Inspection experience OR a combination of 8 years experience in shipbuilding or heavy industry and 5 years of Quality Inspection experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Do you meet this requirement?

Preferred Qualifications

Nice to have a demonstrated thorough understanding of ship construction, manufacturing processes, budget, and operations.

*Preffered: progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience.

*Demonstrated basic computer skills are required.

Prefer the ability to read a blueprint and a tape measure.

Prefer to have the ability to inspect confined spaces, stooping, crawling, bending, climbing ladders and stairs when required. Must be able to inspect at heights greater than 10 feet
