The Role
Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
The Mechanical Facilities Engineer 4 plans, designs, and leads the reconfiguration, maintenance, and enhancement of equipment and production systems. This role gathers and analyzes data related to equipment specifications, operational requirements, regulatory constraints, and schedule feasibility. The engineer collaborates with internal engineering teams and external equipment vendors to develop technical criteria, equipment layouts, and detailed mechanical specifications.
Key responsibilities include preparing comprehensive equipment specifications to support equipment acquisition, integration, and installation. The engineer reviews and estimates project costs associated with equipment selection, oversees equipment inspections, and performance verification to ensure full compliance with technical requirements.
Requires expertise in mechanical and equipment engineering with broad knowledge of related disciplines. The engineer communicates technical strategies, findings, and recommendations cleary to leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional partners. The role develops innovative solutions to complex equipment-related challenges.
This position requires project-management abilities for efforts throughout the full project lifecycle, including scope development, planning, risk assessment, execution and delivery. Decisions and recommendations have significant impact on major organizational objectives and high-visibility programs.
The Mechanical Facilities Engineer 4 serves as the organization's primary technical representative for major equipment projects, collaborating with senior-level external partners, suppliers, and tehcnical specialists to coordinate complex engineering efforts across organization.
Must Have
Bachelors degree in science and 9 years of experience
