The Role

Manages a segment of a program or a function. Responsible for controlling material flow through multi-site warehousing/distribution networks with increased focus on Safety, Quality, Inventory Control, Facility Management, and Innovation;  Responsible for the direct supervision/management of staff which supervises employees who use a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, cranes, hand carts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse. Oversees the processing, packaging, and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment. Coordinates with engineers, shippers, carton manufacturers, and carpenters for special crating and packing requirements. Supervises employees who maintain records and check invoices/bills of lading. Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies. Program Manager responsibilities include: interfacing planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large delivery order or mid-size technical services-type contract. Reviews and prepares status reporting of projects and budgets; manages schedules, assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, functional goals and objectives. Develops operational KPIs for monitoring performance in collaboration with functional project managers, line managers, and internal customers. Interfaces with cross-functional and executive leadership to ensure operational KPI’s are met or exceeded. Lead, mentor, and develop a team that echoes the values and principles of Ingalls. Supervises employees who use a variety of equipment such as forklifts, conveyers, cranes, hand carts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products or goods within a plant, office, or warehouse. Oversees the processing, packaging, and storage of supplies, materials, and equipment. May assist in selecting appropriate containers and wrapping methods for materials to be shipped or stored. Coordinates with engineers, shippers, carton manufacturers, and carpenters for special crating and packing requirements. Supervises employees who maintain records and check invoices/bills of lading.

Must Have

Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of 8 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's degree and 6 years relevant experience.
