The Role
The Procurement Manger 3 is responsible for managing and leading the functional department responsible for the procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, fleet support services, supplies, finished goods and services for Facilities and IT support. The ultimate goal is ensuring material availability meeting the enterprises priorities of safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
Primary Responsibilities
• Responsible for material procurements adhering to cost, schedule and quality
• Development of procurement strategy
• Provide approvals for negotiation plans, negotiated prices, and selections of recommended suppliers
• Analyzes trends in the metal market for optimum order placements
• Follows up orders placed to ensure material movement throughout manufacturing process.
• Develop and implement processes that will streamline operations and create savings; work closely with project teams to establish supporting initiatives
• Work closely with Director of Procurement to set strategy, implement standards and operational goals that are aligned with corporate initiatives
• Management of procurement staff
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years’ experience in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Planning, Inventory Management, Operations Management with supervisory work experience or related field or
Master’s degree plus 8+ years’ experience in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Planning, Inventory Management, Operations Management with supervisory work experience or related field.
Certifications Preferred:
Institute for Supply Management Certification (ISM) OR Sole Certified Professional Logistician (CPL)
At least 10 years of senior supply management experience or 15 years depending on the job requirements and the skills/education of the candidate, operational management experience, or experience in the primary service delivery of the organization is typical. Critical requirement is a proven track record of delivering large savings and other value to large swaths of spend via a strong team of employees that the individual has managed and/or developed.
