The Role
Maintains smooth operation of local area, world wide and virtual private networks (VPN). Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings. Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions. Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems. May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment. May design network or portion of network that include selection of hardware and software packages.
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer 3 to join our enterprise IT Infrastructure team. This senior technical role is responsible for advanced network design, implementation, troubleshooting, and support across a large, complex environment. The ideal candidate is highly proficient with SD WAN, Zscaler, Palo Alto Networks firewalls, and Microsoft Azure networking, and able to work with various teams, both internal and external, to maintain expect overall network performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as a network engineering resource for enterprise routing, switching, and security
• Design, implement, and optimize SD WAN solutions across multiple sites
• Support with Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, including policy, connectivity, and performance tuning
• Manage Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama, including security policies and advanced troubleshooting
• Support and enhance Azure networking components such as VNets, vWAN, routing, VPN/ExpressRoute, firewalls, and hybrid connectivity
• Lead troubleshooting for escalated network incidents and performance issues
• Drive network modernization initiatives and infrastructure upgrade projects
• Produce and maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and procedural guides
• Collaborate closely with cloud, security, application, and operations teams
Must Have
5 Years with Bachelor's Degree in related field; 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree.
Strong expertise with: SD WAN platforms , Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama, Azure network components and hybrid cloud connectivity. Deep understanding of routing, switching, VPN technologies, DNS, and network security principles. Proven ability to lead complex network changes and resolve high severity incidents.
Nice to Have
Experience managing or supporting contract requirements for external service providers, including performance measurement and contract adherence
Relevant certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE, AZ 700, or Zscaler Professional credentials. Familiarity with network automation or scripting tools.
