The Role
Supervises employees who test and/or inspect products to determine compliance with specifications.
Supervisor will manage schedule, budget and the day to day acitivities of direct reports. Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to, maintaining all status files for their area, progressing budgets, ensuring the dimensional accuracy of units in the build, stacking, integrate, and Combat Systems Alignment areas. The selected candidate will ensure open communication with all levels of managemnet, internal and external customers, and direct reports.
Must Have
Apprentice Certification, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 4 years of applicable, progressive technical, professional and/or supervisory work experience Or HS Diploma/GED and 15 years experience or AA Degree and 10 years experience. A candidate must have a thorough understanding of construction, manufacturing processes, and operations. Must be a curennt employee of Ingalls Shipbuilding.
Nice to Have
Demonstrated Leadership capability
Effective written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access). An understanding of unit contruction (Stacking, Erection, Waterborne Alignment, and 3-Dimensional technology applications).
An understanding of budgets, manning requirements, and Statement of Work.
